The dinosaur (DY-NO-SORE) hiding in this picture is one of the oldest ever dinosaurs in the world. His name is Massospondylus (you say it "MASS-O-SPON-DYE-LUSS"), which means "Bulky Back-bone", and he lived in South Africa 220 million years ago. He was a special kind of dinosaur that did not have feet like an elephant (which the very, very big long-necked dinosaurs had which came after Massospondylus); he had feet with toes and toenails. Do you know how many toes he had? He had five, just like you. He even had one toe on each front foot that worked like your thumb. He could stand up on his back legs, put his tail on the ground to support him, reach up into trees, and grab hold of branches just the way you would grab them. Then he would pull them down and eat the tasty leaves. Massospondylus was a plant-eater, and the proper word for that is 'herbivore' ("HER-BIV-AUR").
