Exclusive 5-day Rock Art Tour: Western Cape, South Africa
Prime Origins in association with Passage to Africa, tour logistics operators Felix Unite and Bushmanskloof offer a unique rock art experience in the Cederberg Wilderness area of the Western Cape. The Prime Origins tour leader for the group is an English-born archaeologist, Tony Manhire, a specialist in the field who through the University of Cape Town has been studying rock art and the indigenous environment in the Cederberg for the past 20 years. Manhire will be accompanied by a Satour registered guide.

Accomodation Details:
Bushmanskloof Lodge is a privately owned wilderness reserve 270 kilometres from Cape Town. The 32 bed lodge is a member of Relais and Chateaux, the international association which sets out to promote true hospitality based on the five "C's": Character, Charm, Calm, Cuisine and Courtesy.

The reserve is a National Heritage Site that has been billed as the "world's largest open air gallery", containing 125 pristine rock art sites. It also has a large herd of the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra, 33 other species of animals, 170 bird species including raptors and 755 plant species. It was once home to the San, commonly known as Bushmen, who scientists agree are humanity's last living link to the Stone Age.

Bushmanskloof won the Diners Club Merit Award in 1999 and 2000, and is renowned for its cellar of fine Cape wines, its sumptious Cape heritage food and comfortable ambience, It also has a state of the art telescope for star gazing.
